For students undertaking our Flexible Learning training course we offer a 2 hour Pre-training Prac Session.

Course Overview

This infrared training practical session is for in-experienced or first time users who want to learn how to operate an infrared cameras and to set them on the right path to using a camera effectively and accurately.

What You Will Learn

This is an opportunity to have your trainer take you through the basics of infrared camera operation, including:

  • Setting up a thermal imager
  • Focusing and camera operation
  • Storing and recording thermal Imagery
  • Utilising different colour palettes
  • Manual adjustment of Level and Span settings
  • Changing temperature ranges
  • Understanding resolution and spot measurement size
  • Practical tips for field operation

Who Should Apply

We highly recommend that this session be attended by anyone who has little or no practical thermography experience, to ensure that you have the skills necessary to operate your camera during the practical components of the Level 1 training course.

Course Tuition

Participants who have their own thermal imaging camera are encouraged to bring it with them. However, if you do not have your own camera please inform our training coordinator when you booking is confirmed to ensure that a camera is made available for your use.
